We’re thrilled to announce that Alex Williams has been nominated for the RIBA President’s Bronze Medal 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious architecture awards celebrating outstanding student design.
The prize honours creativity, originality, and architecture’s power to shape culture and community.
Alex’s project, “To Mean // To Make: Sculpting a Dialogue on an Athenian Mountain,” reimagines Athens’ cultural identity. Rooted in the city’s democratic legacy, it responds to over-tourism, urban neglect, and the fading connection between people and place. Balancing digital and physical experiences, permanence and change, the design rekindles collective creativity and civic spirit.
This nomination is a testament to Alex’s thoughtful approach and dedication to exploring how architecture can inspire dialogue and growth in the heart of a city.
A huge congratulations to Alex for this well-deserved recognition and inspiring vision of how architecture can shape culture and community.
