St Michael's Church, Crambe

This project demonstrates the value of specialist historic building conservation, combining traditional materials with skilled craftmanship.

The chancel had previously been pointed with a mixture of mortars including some cementations which were trapping moisture and causing damage to the historic walls.

The entire chancel was repointed internally to prevent further deterioration of the stone.

Externally, localised repairs and redecoration were carried out to the window ferramenta, door and rainwater goods.

To improve internal ventilation, discreet stainless steel mesh quarries were also integrated into the chancel windows.
