With funding approved, exciting plans for the development of a new health centre for west Hull have now been given the go-ahead.

The new health centre located on Lowfield Road, Anlaby will provide specialist services for the Harthill primary care network and will serve as a hub for the local GP surgeries of Cottingham, Hessle, North Ferriby, Swanland and Willerby.

Housing 15 consulting rooms, a health education area, meeting rooms and space for support and administration staff the new health centre will be able to deliver the much needed space and access to specialist services that the local area has eagerly been waiting for.

Jim Hickey, practice manager at the Willerby and Swanland surgery since 2005 and now support manager for Harthill, said:

“We have struggled for space because we don’t have a hub, this will provide that hub and enable us to bring in specialist services.”

“It doesn’t take anything away from the services we can provide to patients in Willerby and Swanland but as a specialist building it can provide something that isn’t available elsewhere, new services and better access…”

Pearce Bottomley Architects are thrilled that our plans have now been given the go-ahead and look forward to seeing the progression on site.
