Holly is passionate about design and enjoys working with historic buildings to create imaginative yet sensitive schemes. She joins PBA with 8 years’ experience of working within the conservation sector previously at Purcell, on projects such as Grade I listed Auckland Castle and Ledston Hall. She undertook her master’s at Manchester School of Architecture and has since returned as a guest tutor and lecturer providing students with support on adaptive re-use projects.

In 2019 she embarked on the SPAB scholarship, a 9 month long training course for recently qualified architects specialising in the field of architectural conservation. Travelling across the UK she visited the architects, engineers, craftspeople and other professionals responsible for the country’s most prestigious historic building stock. These buildings included Hampton Court Palace, Westminster Abbey, Durham Cathedral as well more modest local vernacular buildings on the Isle of Mull and other remote corners of the UK.  During the course she tried her hand at stone masonry, stained glass, lime plastering and pointing, blacksmithing and many other crafts. The experience has equipped her with a wealth of conservation knowledge and practical hands on experience, giving her a greater appreciation of the crafts involved in architectural conservation.

When Holly is not at work she can be found walking in the Yorkshire Dales with Husband Jonny, making sure to find a good pub for a pit stop. Holly also has a passion for drawing and records her travels in her sketchbook with pencil and watercolours.
