For more than 30 years Pearce Bottomley Architects have been developing its expertise
in Healthcare work. We have witnessed and adapted to the many changes in the
NHS and gained a wealth of knowledge from which we, and more importantly, our
clients now benefit.
Our work has been geographically widespread throughout the Yorkshire Region and
has included involvement on a broad range of building types including projects
at St. James University Hospital in Leeds, The Retreat in York, Leeds General
Infirmary and York District Hospital.
We have covered virtually every kind of medical and hospital department including
non-medical support services, various projects for acute and elderly mental health
patients. We have been involved in care-in-the community projects including conversion
and new-build works to provide shared units with central support facilities, through
a number of specialised Housing Associations.
We have also developed expertise in the provision of accommodation for wheelchair
access and profoundly disabled in association with organisations such as Habinteg
in Chesterfield and Hull, and the award winning project for ASBAH.
In the last 10 years we have specialised in particular on Primary Care Facilities
via Doctor Led, Third Party Developers, PFI and LIFT routes.
We have worked closely with doctors and PCT’s to establish and evolve briefs
and projects. We are fully conversant and keep up to date with relevant legislation
including infection control requirements, HTM’s and Firecode.
We can now boast considerable experience and expertise in this field.
