We have recently completed three small projects at this school, the forming of
a new entrance lobby to the EYFS, replacement of the hall screen and installing
a wind turbine.
We are now looking to enhance the main entrance to the school by constructing
a similar extension to the EYFS entrance. This will continue the new look with
yellow highlights.
The wind turbine was installed by Less CO2 Ltd and links to a display in the
school allowing the children to view its output. The school were able to take
advantage of the rare opportunity to site an effective wind turbine in an urban
area, made possible by the large expanse of unobstructed playing fields and the
hill top location. The turbine is positioned next to a listed church. We managed
to successfully negotiate with the local authority planning and conservation offices
to ensure the turbine has a useful life and blends with the surrounding cityscape.
Procurement: Traditional JCT contract with Wharfedale Construction as principal
